Charming flowing summer knit pants seem to be easy to make. Instructions given for creating a self-pattern using your own pair of sweatpants as a guide. Tutorial informs only 1.5 yards of a knit fabric is used to make the pants plus 2 inch wide elastic for the waistband. Comfortable for summer wear.

This tutorial is fine for those familiar with using your own clothing to draft a pattern for, and sew, a new pair of pants. The author does, however, include a link to a more comprehensive tutorial on making pants for those new to sewing. Again, I would suggest for the novice to make your first pair of pants from an old sheet or a piece of calico. Whenever you need to make adjustments, be sure to note these on the paper pattern youve previously cut out. And you can always use the trial pair for pajama pants afterwards.
