I like all of the mug rug patterns. They are simple to make and you can use up a lot of your scraps making them. I am partial to the snowman one though since I like snowmen! Thank you very much for sharing your ideas and patterns!

I am intimidated by binding, so I have not done one yet, but I really like the heart applique project

I like them ALL.....I match a pattern to the size and quantity of scraps left from other projects...I always hate to trash the scraps...This is the perfect answer....Thank you...!!

I have been wanting to make some mug rugs for a couple of years, but had do many other projects working I didn't have the time. Also, I didn't have a need for personal use, but I can see some awesome gifts here.

I can't say that I have a favorite mug rug pattern (yet) but I DO have a favorite mug rug. I found it years ago and is filled with cinnamon and (I think) sand. It's heavy enough to stay in place and smells Oh so wonderful when you put a warm mug on it!

Thanks for the ideas - can't wait to make some for Christmas gifts!

These are such cute ideas. I will have to try making some. Thanks for this blog.

My favorite mug rug isn't really a mug rug It's Grandma's Secret Recipe Pot Holders. I plan to turn the pot holder into a mug rug.

I absolutely adore the Happy cup mug rug design. I am making this for Christmas gifts. My sisters will love receiving them as we are all avid coffee drinkers! Thanks for the design pattern! :)

Love this Nautical mug rug!

Mug rugs were pretty popular for awhil in the late 1980s,early 90s. Many of them had spices sewn into them, so that when you put a hot cup on them, it released the aroma. I had one that had cinnamon in it, but the smell always made me hungry when I used it, lol! Judy L
