Learn how to make a dress with this pillowcase dress pattern. This free sewing pattern for pajamas helps you construct an insanely comfy and surprisingly cheap nightie out of an old pillowcase and some ribbon. The DIY Pillow Case Night Dress is the perfect item to wear on hot summer nights. The cool and thin fabric provides you just enough coverage to stay modest without making you overheat. This sewing pattern will take about an hour to make and uses one pillowcase. If you do not have a pillowcase, construct a basic pillowcase out of 1 to 2 yards of fabric.

I can't wait to give this a try not only because it's a cute sleeper idea, but also for a costume idea for my daughter. I introduced her to an old tv series/movie called 'Logan's Run' she's been wanting a 'Runner' dress that her favorite character Jessica 6 wore (looks like the nightdress pictured). More fun diy slotted for our new sewing room in the new house.

I am about 5'5" and a regular pillowcase will not be long enough for me but I was thinking about seeing if i could find a wide piece of lace or wear leggings underneath just little suggestions.

Oh, this is cute, but not if you are a Plus size... I need sheets...

I had the same exact thought when I saw this! And on top of being plus-sized I am also large chested!

Is this made from a King size pillowcase? I am only 5'2 and a regular case wouldn't be long enough for me. This really is cute.
