All-American Tote

Show your patriotism on the 4th of July with this All-American Tote. This free tote bag pattern tutorial features an applique star, gingham straps, and a cute bow. Add some red, white and blue to your outfit with this festive DIY tote bag. This bag pattern looks fantastic in just about any fabric, but would look all-American if it were created in a blue jean fabric or shade. Bring this bag along with you to your next barbeque or use it to carry your picnic blanket on your way to the park to watch the fireworks.

I make these totes all the time. They are so super easy and I have used leather before and as long as you use a leather needle it is not that bad so the applique will not be that bad to do. I like that you can adjust the pattern to what size you like by changing the pieces. I have not done any handles on the outside yet but I like this look and I also love the bow on the one handle and you can even do on on the other too. Such a great tote to carry any where.

This patriotic themed tote is just charming. I like the look of the red star on the white background against the denim. Somehow the red patterned bow really dresses up this tote. There is a pdf template to download that may help with additional information. Otherwise, the few steps described are really are all that is needed to make this attractive carryall.
