It seemed a bit large for the tissues so I cut it down a bit. Also, are there any brands of tissue that open from the center? The brand I bought opened from the top and the center opening of the cover just wasn't working. And I attached a loop and D ring so that it could be attached.

Kleenex mini-packs open from the center. So do all the ones at Dollar Tree. I've never seen a mini-pack that opens from the top. Also, this pattern worked much better for me if I made two sets of fabric pieces smaller that the others (say, the top and bottom small than the sides) because the opening was larger without being too large. And a pinking shears works great for trimming the seam allowance around the corners. Gotta say, this is more accurately a 20-30 minute project 5 minutes is not even close.

Have you ever gone somewhere and had to pull your Kleenex out to wipe your nose and you reach for them in your purse only to be embarrassed because the package ripped and went all over. I have. This is a very neat and cool holder to make so this will not happen again and no more embarrassing moments. I like that you can use up your scraps and make these so fast or use up old dress, shirt or even a cute towel. Such a simple project and a very good tutorial. Why not even make some fancy by adding lace or ribbon. A great little something for everyone.

Great stocking stuffer idea and scrap basket project. This is reminiscent of the paper folded square origami fortune teller all kids learn to do in school. A nice take on the fabric tissue cover holder. Make out of seasonal fabric for a nice twist on this familiar Kleenex-type tissue cover.

I made a bunch of these to give as stocking stuffers. They take me longer than 5 minutes to measure, cut, pin and sew, but they are cute and useful so I am happy to invest the 20- 30 minutes it takes me. One thing I do to make these look more "professional" is that I put some top stitching on the inside edges where the tissues come out. I stitch really close to the edge and it makes it look clean and finished! I would live to hear about any variations you are doing with this project.

This such a fun take on a tissue holder, everyone likes the different design and it is a great add on for a tote or school bag.

The sniffles are definitely starting to get to me, and this would be such a cute way to remember to carry around tissues. I like that you can sew it in your favorite fun fabric!
