This is a really practical idea! I adapted it by making an apron with the same idea of pockets for cleaning supplies or when I am in the garden, or tools, when fixing stuff. But it really was helpful when I wallpapered because the slots were perfect for the cutting blade, scissors, pencil, and level! But of course, it works great in the car too! )

This car book holder is such a great idea. My car has a pocket on back of seat but you have to dig for what you want. I am going to make some with these pockets so it is easy to access the pens and pencils. I know they will love them in character fabric of their choice. This is great for traveling with kids to keep them entertained. I think I am going to try and use velco around head rest instead of ties to eliminate the bulkiness. Thanks for tutorial.

What a great idea for Christmas gifts for children and grandchildren. The comment about having the back material face up is fantastic. I was thinking about lining the book holder but this idea is easier.

Just made these for my Grandkids birthday....My grandson's was spiderman and my Granddaughter's was Dora the cute...I did however modify your pattern....just above the outside pocket, I bought some netting with color to match the material and made another pocket just above.....this could hold garbage, beverage, kleexix or napkins, stuffed animals, turned out well..thanks for sharing your pattern with us.....Vicky Moore

Just made this and my kids love it. The one thing I did is to turn the back piece so the wrong side of the fabric is against the cars seat is way you don't have to see wrong side of fabric.
