Pull the other one, Heather! A skirt in 15, or even 30, minutes? Perhaps if it's for a fancy dress and you'll never need to wear it again but REALLY! Why not make it a better skirt that takes an hour? Or even two. That way we don't waste good fabric.

That's the fastest sewing tutorial I have ever seen. There's alot I can do in 15 minutes but sewing a skirt from scratch did not seem like one of them. I think this skirt would look good on most apple shapes but for pears, it will need a bit of adjusting, especially the waistline.

Even if you have never sewn before you can make this skirt. I began making these types of skirts in my early 20"s and before I purchased my first Singer sewing machine. And, on it sewing machine, you really can these skirts in 15 minutes or less.

I always say there is no reason to buy skirts if you can sew. They are so easy to make and fit you much better than the store bought ones. It does not take much fabric and you can coordinate it to the tops or jackets you already have. Buying the right elastic is important since I have made that mistake in the past. But once you do that, everything else fits into place. I treasure my dress form since it makes fitting so much easier. Thank you for the pattern.

I'm going to give this a try, but I may tweak it a little. My waist is significantly smaller than my hips, and I am going to taper the top and shape the skirt just a little so I won't have too much fabric bunching around the waist. I will use a stretch knit, and I may also see if I can enclose the elastic at the top-might take a little more time, but I'd like to see how it looks. I think I'll also make mine a few inches longer, too-my miniskirt days are far in the past!

This skirt looks super easy and I love the fabric shown! I have made skirts from quilting cotton before and I always felt they were too stiff. I'm very new to sewing with knit fabric and I wonder if that would work for a skirt like this? Has anyone used knit fabrics for this particular pattern before? If so, was it easy and would you recommend it?

I'm probably going to use a knit for this-I find knits very easy to sew with, as long as I'm using a ball-point needle on my machine.

A skirt in 15 minutes! I have to make this, especially since, ahem, I have put on weight lately and nothing in my closet fits me. Besides I like to chose my own fabric patterns which suit me and can make a few different kinds with the same sewing pattern. I also haven't sewn for many years and I believe this could be a way to start again and build up the sewing confidence!

In my younger days, I preferred this style of skirts, but below the knee. Presently, I would love to make it for my five granddaughters from the age of fifteen to twenty. Just as it is in length. As simple to make, I could make them in one day!

I love this 15 minute skirt. I made some these for my daughter-in-law last Christmas and will be making more this year and they are super easy once you get your measurements right. I make one and then cut the rest from the first one and you can make a permanent one from that. I used stretch wool fabric and they turned out beautiful and my daughter-in-law gets so may compliments on them. Do yourself a favor and make some and if you like making homemade things for gifts this is a quick and easy skirt to make and a great fit.

Do you think it would work for someone who has larger hips and smaller waist? I'm just wondering if there would be too much fabric gathered at the waist.

Thank you sooooooo much for this simple skirt. I haven't sat at a machine in at least 18 years, and now I want to get back to sewing

I had my 13-year-old daughter make this skirt fir herself. It was the first article of clothing she has ever made all by herself so it took longer than 15 minutes but she had the whole thing done in 2 hours and it is SOOOOO cute. It looks great on her and she wants to make another one!

My concern is that if using a woven fabric, will only 1 inch ease allow enough room for skirt to slide on and off? My daughter-in-law is just starting to sew, and I don't want her 1st to be a flop. Help

Cute, cute! Just what I needed!
