Girls Ladybug Costume Pattern

search

From the Blogger: "This is a pattern of a girl's ladybug costume for a 4-year old. It won us the first place in a costume contest. My daughter liked it so much that she wore it almost every day for a year afterwords. It is comfortable and soft, and your girl can wear it for a long time without causing any discomfort to the kid. The pattern is accompanied with step-by-step sewing instructions and a video tutorial. It includes printing, cutting and sewing directions."

What a great looking ladybug costume to make for Halloween and than it can be used for dress up after. I like the foam in the wings to make it more firm. It has a super great video for creating the hat, dress and the wings with a downloadable pattern. This is simple enough to make. I love love the hat and you can even make that alone. I made a ladybug with the tulle skirt but I have to say this looks so much more comfrotable.

This instructional tutorial is very well done and provides clear photos and a detailed fabric and materials list so that you could easily duplicate this adorable project, I love the fact that this costume can be worn easily and is comfortable for the child! You could use this same technique to creat other bugs with different colors.... How about a firefly? Just use greenish fabric and you could make a small pocket in each wing to,hold a battery pack for some small LED green twinkle lights! Such fun and cuteness! Thanks for the great instructions!

Great suggestions! Love the firefly idea, with two little girls at home I need to make costumes like a factory, haha...
