From the blogger: "Take an old shirt and transform them into trousers. These trousers are covered in scraps and embroidered using free motion embroidery. They were then further heated up with a soldering iron to give it the kintsugi look. Kintsugi is the Japanese mending technique used to repair ceramics; and, this pair of trousers is inspired by this technique. For the kintsugi effect, satin stitches and free motion embroidery was used over a sandwich of chiffon and scraps. You will love the look and how colorful it is. They are perfect for the summer this year!"

I love this idea, they are so colourful and are a great way to use up those scrap bits of material. My daughter really liked the idea and so got a pair of her old jeans and added patches of material to them, it was really easy for her to hand sew them on and she enjoyed selecting bright colours with big bold patterns. This is a really good way to get into making clothes.

These are just fabulous! I love the whole kintsugi aesthetic and am itching to get started with making myself a pair of these gorgeous pants. This project is definitely going to stretch my sewing abilities but I WILL persevere and if they turn out looking good enough for a photo I will post one here lol!
