Don't get stuck in the shade this summer! Have some fun in the sun with this fabulous Sun Hat. This floppy sun hat pattern is a great, versatile way to make your own hat for sunny days at the beach. It is just floppy enough that you can fold it up and conveniently pack it in your beach bag. Use fabrics that match your swimsuit or your favorite summer dress. This hat will protect you from the sun and serve as a fantastic fashionable accessory.

Okay come on spring so I can wear this great looking sun hat to the beach or a vacation. I can see this all over the beach in different types and colors of fabric or out of rain fabric to keep from getting wet. This is a good tutorial and I think a beginner can handle this if you just read it a few times and pay attention to the directions. find more than one fabric you like then make one for a friend while you are making yours. Anyone make one?

nice pattern. I thought I might try it with the rim a little bigger. also I cant print from acrobat reader. I don't know why, any body else. love it. going to make a matching bag

Just made this and it came out awesome! will be making more for family! thanks for pattern!

This looks like a good way to use up scraps of fabric.

I think the pattern needs to specify the width of the fabric. I bought a home decor fabric (44" wide) and it wasn't enough to get all the pieces. I got one brim and the hat pieces. I had to go back to the fabric store and buy another half yard to get the other piece for the brim. Had I bought 3/4 of a yard to start, I would have had enough.

I agree I had to go get more also for the main fabric. but all in all It came out nice for the first one. will make more. thank you

I used this pattern last summer it was to small for my head.

Charlottea, it's easy to make it bigger. Just add a little onto the end of the brim piece - maybe half an inch, and make the hat seams smaller instead of the half inch seam. I had to make mine smaller, so I cut off half inch from the brim piece and made my hat seams 5/8 of an inch.

Living in Australia I must have a sun hat all the time. Now I can have one for each outfit. Thanks!!!!!

El sombrero esta lindo!!! Muchas gracias.
