I have never seen the cute butterfly shapes done in a quilt! I love this pattern. It would be so,cute to add some sheer fabric here and there over the butterfly areas to create a wing effect! Little girls would love this quilt, such a great design and pattern!

Thank you for the instructions and picture layouts. Word for the shape you were looking for is PENTAGON - five sided shape. diamond has 4 sides. I am so glad I could help someone else remember a word instead of someone else remembering a word for me finally!

This looks a lot like the "Stack 'n Whack" or "Kaleidoscopes" pattern, but it seems to me that this is a bit easier. Plus a good use of scraps which I keep. I do a lot of paper piecing so I save scraps, so will have to try this one. thanks
