I made a blanket for my husband about 10 years ago for our Anniversary because I did not know what to get him but it was about 54" x 54" and it was not minky fabric. He still has it to this day in the camper and I put long fringe on the ends. I have got to make this one out of the minky fabric because it is soooooo soft Maybe more than one. These blankets are easy to make you just have to pin the fabric good and TAKE YOUR TIME SEWING. Use something like a seam ripper or long tweezers to help you guide the fabric through. A beginner can make one if you follow the steps. A homemade blanket is a special gift given from the heart and will be around for memories. I love the feet pocket which I did not know about but now I do and will add it. Great tutorial.

I made this as a gift for my mother-in-law. The corners had me going for a little while, but I figured it out and everybody loves it.... Only I made it to the size stated and forgot that you made it for your husband. I suggest that people take the size of the person they are making it for into consideration. My mother-in-law is only 5 ft tall and the blanket is a little large. Other than that, this is a great project and only took me an hour to make.... Only problem is that I have had request for more.

As I am new to this site, I feel pretty dumb. What is "Minky" fabric? Is that the name of the fabric or the manufacture's name? It looks wonderful and something I am sure I could do for my husband. He would love it. Can anyone tell me the answer to my question? Sorry for being so dumb! Lisa

lcoe2007 6510362 it is a type of fabric. It is super soft, like you find a lot of baby blankets. It's pretty amazing, though a little expensive and I have a hard time sewing with it (I'm still pretty new at sewing though).

cannot open this one

Hi, bwward 3182419. We have noticed lately that several users are experiencing difficulty accessing patterns from Blogspot sites; there seems to be an issue with Internet Explorer. We recommend downloading an alternate web browsing software, such as Firefox or Google Chrome, which are generally more effective. For example, I am using Firefox and am able to access the pattern successfully. Thank you, and we apologize for any inconvenience. --Editors of AllFreeSewing

Hi, everyone. We are very sorry to hear so many of you are having trouble with the link. We are able to access the pattern just fine on our end. Perhaps try using a different Internet browser, such as FireFox or Google Chrome, to see if that helps. Thank you, and we apologize for any inconvenience. --Editors of AllFreeSewing

It was strange I could pull it up on my iphone without any problem. It is a cool pattern with a blanket that is 72"x60" with a self binding technique. She refers to two other sites that explain that. I will be making my next blanket like this. and I hope this helps. She also includes a pocket to put your feet in as well.

Cannot get to the website for the pattern at all - even by just entering the website name rather than using this site's link, it would not connect with the site. The error message said it was not a valid site.

it would not let me get into the link for the pattern

Would love to make as my family love couch blankets but cannot access the link.

I would really like to make this but cannot access the link as indicated on "Click Here for Sewing Pattern"! Please correct!

Could not get this link to work. Looks interesting but it looks like others are trying too with no luck.

@mfarra 9571989 - When I cut and pasted your link "", it worked, as well. That bolster and the Minky blanket would make an awesome matching set. I like the way you think. :-)

The link is working for me this morning. This looks like it would make a great gift.

Not working and neither is another pattern whose name is: The Minky is: and does not work. I thought it might have something to do with cookies, but changed mine and still cannot open. I have also tried things from the Sew Homegrown and none of them open up.

It didn't work for me either. Is there a problem that can be remedied?

Makes ppl trying to get in but nothing huh Rubbish

This link doesn't work for me either.

This link does not work for me.
