Tips for selecting fabric for the ends of the scarf:

Another benefit of making this DIY Kitchen Boa is that they make amazingly creative gifts for the holidays or for housewarming. If any of your family or friends cook, then be sure to make them one using a fabric design they'll love.

So, whether you're looking for a thoughtful handmade Christmas gift or simply want a practical kitchen towel, this is the project for you! But, there are a few things to consider before making...

Consider what you are planning on using this for. Drying dishes? Go for cotton that will dry quickly and can be washed easily. If you want to use the ends as heavy-duty potholders, make sure you add heat-resistant padding to your fabric pieces. This tutorial's fabric is 100% cotton.

This tutorial uses a woven patterned fabric for an important reason. Since this scarf will be visible on both sides, using a printed fabric may not look as nice as woven since it's more visible on one side and woven looks nice on both sides.
