Materials List

  • 8'' Shears
  • Cotton fabric
  • 1/4'' Elastic
  • Sewing machine
  • Pins
  • Thread

Instructions

  1. Lay the bowl on top of your chosen fabric and draw a circle around the rim, adding an extra 1 1/2” width so that there is enough fabric to completely cover the bowl. Cut out the circle using your 8'' shears.

  2. Pin 1/4” wide elastic piece at the raw edge and pull it taut as you sew the elastic to the perimeter of the fabric with a zig zag stitch. 

  3. Fill your bowl with snacks and place the finished cover on top.

I can't tell you how many times the bowls of snacks I set out have been tipped over by rowdy guests, pets, and (on occasion) myself. Since the elastic on this pattern is customized to fit every bowl, it's guaranteed to fit snugly enough to protect against even the most precarious of tips!
