Scrappy Churn Dash Pillow
From the Blogger: "The Churn Dash block is one of my favourites. It's traditional, but can be jazzed up with modern fabrics for a contemporary look. This scrappy churn dash pillow finishes up at a 15" square and is a wonderful way to use up some favourite fabric pieces. Instructions include step-by-step photos to create your own 15" pillow. I quilted mine with straight lines in a grid-type pattern, but quilt yours as desired for a unique pillow to suit your personal style."

I have never quilted before but this pillow is so vibrant and pretty that I am going to give it a try. I do think that I will start with sewing some bigger pieces in my squares first until I get the hang of it. I have made lots of pillows before but this will be the first quilted front. I need to look in my fabric pile of scrap pile and see what I come up with. If you have even wanted to make a pillow that includes a quilt pattern than this tutorial explains it well. Why not make one with some pretty spring colors.

It can be fun to play with scraps and see what arrangements and color designs you can come up with! It is best to iron those seems as you go along piecing the fabrics together to keep,everything true and square... That can sometimes be a challenge for me, and also lining up the grain, cutting it properly. But once you get the hang of it, you can really come up with some good creations!

This pillow is so cute! What a great way to use up your random scraps. As long as the colors are kind of similar, it'll look great!

Such a fun and bright pillow. Maybe a little advanced for me as I haven't quilted anything with a lot of pieces. But there's never a better time to learn, right? I like the size of this pillow-I could probably manage. I think I might start with solid patterns, though. The tutorial seems easy to follow with good pictures so I might give this a try over the winter months when I'm stuck inside. Thanks for sharing!
