Denim Snowflakes

Denim Snowflakes

"Looking for a simple hand-sewing project that uses up fabric scraps? These DIY denim snowflake decorations are a lovely way to practise reverse appliqué and blanket stitching while giving old jeans a new life. Start by cutting denim into hexagons, then carefully remove a snowflake shape from the centre. Place cream felt behind the cut-out and blanket stitch around the edges to create a pretty white snowflake against the blue denim. Add a second denim hexagon for the backing and stitch everything together by hand. Make several in different shades of denim for a rustic winter garland, or use them individually as ornaments or decorative mug rugs. There's even a free printable snowflake template included."
