How about a towel with a potholder in the corners? That I would reaaly like.

Dec 24, 2013

i bought a hanging towel at a craft show a few years back. It is the simplest one to make, one seam and one button. You need a dish or hand towel, a cheap pot holder with a top centered loop (2 for a dollar at the dollar store) and a button. Mark the center of the right side of the towel and wrong side of the pot holder. You can use a pencil as it won't show. With right side up pleat or gather towel to size of potholder. Lay potholder wrong side up on top of towel, matching center lines. Sew them together. Press the potholder in half, add the button to the opposite side from the loop and you are ready to hang it. You now have a hanging towel with double sides. I love this as you can use a heavier towel and coordinating colors to match your kitchen. Super cheap and super easy and super good looking. I just wish I had thought of this first.

I did a project for my kitchen that would work with this topic. I have a small apt sized kitchen with BROWN cupboards, all of it!! Very dark and dreary. All my kitchen stuffs is sunflower and I had a length (1 1/2 yard maybe)of sunflower cotton material. I measured and cut 5 inch wide strips and 24 inches or more in length. I sewed up this material into giant bands of color that I could slip over the cupboard doors and the drawers. It brightenes up the kitchen with out paint or damage to apt fixtures.
