This pincushion is easy enough for a child to make, especially with a little help from a grown up. It would make a lovely Mother's Day gift or a Christmas gift for a grandmother. If a dainty tea cup is not what you want, a "Best Mom Ever" or "Best Grandma" coffee cup would work as well. Homemade gifts are always the best!

I just love to make teacup pincushions. Local thrift stores usually have lovely inexpensive porcelain dainty teacups perfect for making the pincushions. If they come without a matching saucer no matter, the teacup pincushions look just darling without. Just add a narrow satin ribbon bow to the handle and some whimsical beaded straight pins for a great gift idea.

A very simple but elegant idea, it is easy to find cheap cups from second hand or charity shops and so would make an ideal low cost gift, I would put some heart topped knitting pins in the top before giving as a gift. The tutorial is really easy to follow with close-up photos making it an ideal project for a beginner.

This is so cute! What a great way to keep your supplies organized!
