I had a dress like this when I was a little girl and I absolutely loved it. It's hard to beat a tulle skirt. So cute!

Doesn't every little girl just LOVE a tutu dress, whether or not she does ballet? I have just finished making this Tutu Dress for a friends little girl and it took me a little over 3 hours. The instructions are clear and very easy to follow and what a great idea to use a cut off T-shirt for the top and then to join the skirt on to that! I am very happy with the finished dress!

What girl does not want to think she is a ballerina. My grand daughter does twirls every time she puts a tutu on. She cannot get enough of them and every time she sees a tutu skirt she wants that one too. I have not made her any yet because like you said I have been afraid of the way the tulle will lay. I am so glad that you posted foiled tulle works. I have never heard of it. I like that this tutorial shows you how to make this tutu a dress because dresses are so much easier than trying to find a shirt to go with it and to buy a T-shirt to use for the dress top amazing. This is a great tutorial so simple and easy that many can be made in no time. I can see this done in green for St. Patrick's day.
