If you are like me you hate to throw your scrap fabrics away well now you can make this dish mat by sewing some strips together and giving it a quilted look. I love things different and this is so me. You can make it your own. This would make a great housewarming gift too. So simple and fast to make and a great tutorial too. Thanks.

I have been using something like this for years and it really is nicer looking than the plastic ones, takes up less space and looks prettier! For an additional functional option, I have one part of it rolled over to create a little height and you can lean bowls or glasses on it so a bit of air gets in and they dry much more quickly! And versatile as a trivet for a large pan too!

What I really like about this drying mat is that you can customize it to your kitchen decor and/or seasons. The mats you buy in the store are either a boring beige or too bright. I also like the idea of piecing "go together" scraps. These mats make perfect hostess gifts as well.
