I am about to make something similar to this, but one side will be flannel and the other will be a very soft fleece. I found some robots that I couldn't resist for my son! His whole nursery is robots! So I am wondering - will this tutorial still work with that combo of fabrics?

I have made this a little differently. I put a layer of white flannel in the middle of each layer. It gives a little more body. I only use a 1/2 inch seam allowance. This with the extra layer gives a nice, fuzzy look. Not quite as stringy.
