t This is a nice version of the t-shirt dress and eliminates the problem with the waist not holding close to the body. By dividing the shirt and elastic into equal sections, you can reduce the problem of the elastic or the shirt being larger and get an even gathering of the t- shirt onto the elastic. The skirt would look cute with the ruffled edge of elastic on the outside. Place the elastic wrong side on top of the right side of the skirt fabric (1/2" below the serged edge). [ The elastic and the skirt are side by side] Top stitch with an elastic or stretch stitch. Be sure to buy waistband elastic and not regular elastic. You will find it with the belting or notions in the store.
