Free Toque Pattern
From the Blogger: "This hat came about with an intense desire to make a pom pom. I saw a pom pom and knew it needed to go onto something! And being a Canadian, I figured the most appropriate thing would be a Toque. This is also a fantastic project to use up fabric scraps. It can be made in just a few minutes and because of the double layer of fabric, it's super warm and comfy for the cold weather."

This hat is fabulous - especially the huge pom pom! Your kids definitely won't get lost in the snow if you make them a hat like this.

What a cute hat! I haven't tried making one, but I have some sweater knit on hand so I can actually try this. And, I LOVE pom noms. How adorable is that on top? I'm a little curious about the pictures in the tutorial-it looks like the seams are surged but it doesn't mention anything about them being surged. May have to research that a bit before trying my hand at hats. I'm not familiar with a lot of my machine's stitches so maybe I can do it after all. Thanks for the inspiration!
