Skater skirts are both flirty and slimming, and offer a cool alternative to form-fitting pencil skirts. These flowing and fun skirt patterns are fantastic pieces to wear while out for the summer. They are especially designed to allow you to move freely without being stuck in tight, uncomfortable clothes. This How to Make a Skater Skirt tutorial shows you exactly how to create one of these trendy skirts. The free skirt pattern provided is a bit longer than most skater skirts, making it comfy and appropriate for a work environment. If you want to make it extra short, however, it is easily shortened, making this look perfect for a night out.

I am obsessed with skater skirts. Youthful, movable, and girlish, they are the perfect complement to a graphic tee or frilly blouse. This pattern, a bit longer than the average skater skirt, also gives you the ability to wear your piece into the officemore versatility! Having less than the average curve, I also find that skater skirts give my bottom half the extra volume it needs to give the illusion of a hourglass shape.
