Such a simple, inexpensive idea and one that doesnt need to be confined to Christmas. Why not experiment with some bright floral patterns, or even abstract patterns in more muted colours? You could have a little stash of guest towels for any, and every, occasion. And why stop with guest towels? You could even add thinner borders of fabric to your regular bath towels to add a little pizazz to the bathroom dcor.

I have made several of these fabric embellished hand towels and it does add a thoughtful decorator touch. Simple and quick to make yet a great way to use up fabric scraps. Stack several together and tie with a fabric bow made of the same fabric for a designer look. Easy hostess gift idea too.
