I have always bought those cheap cat ears from the dollar store but these are so much cooler looking and you can choose the color of your cat not just black. They are so easy to make and can be made the day of Halloween. I like when you can use these costume pieces as dress up after too. This tutorial has the downloadable pattern for the ears and step by step pictures. All kids love cats so this is a must in dress up box. Make some in different colors for all their friends to play too.

I have made various ear headbands over the years. Be sure to use a thicker button or carpet thread to sew these ears into the fabric covered headband! She also used some fluffy pink feathery trim on top,of the pink felt inside the ears. You could use this basic pattern to create other ears too, or go whimsical with colors for a mystical critter! Such a fun idea and great instructions too! Thanks for sharing!

Marilyn B thank you for the suggestion of the thicker thread becausethe ears do need to be put on the headband with the thicker thread or it will break off the headband for sure after all that work.It probably will make it stand up better too. I hope everyone see this before they sewthem on because it is a great tip. Thanks.
