I love this! I could buy cheap sheets in the colors I want and make my own. It might even be a fun project to do with my granddaughter for her room. Have you tried washing the rug? Will it hold together when washed in a washing machine on a delicate cycle?

Why didn't I think of this? Now I can stop buying cheap rugs from Walmart and just make my own! Great idea!

I love any weaving project...I never thought of stripping and weaving old sheets together..this is something to try..

So cool! What a great idea to upcycle old bedsheets into a rug! Thrifty and chic!

My old bedsheets are painting cloths and garden frost covers, but maybe I can use other washable materials

If youve got a linen press full of old sheets that you really should get rid of - and if youve got some time on your hands - then this would be a great project. It all sounds a bit complicated at first - but then so do most things until you actually start working. Its important to decide on a design before you start so that you attain the lovely patterned look of the rug in the picture.

I've been looking for some budget-friendly ways to decorate my home, so I'm completely in love with this idea!

At first glance, I thought this was braided, but it is indeed woven by using a slotted cardboard form you make yourself. The instructions are very detailed and even a great way to loop slot pieces together. I think it would be very comfy on the feet and quite thick! I am wondering if it would slip a bit, but I think it is thick enough that it would be ok without backing or a under rug slip mat. Thank you for such good instructions!
