Great little idea and you can toss it in the wash when needed. I use mine next to my sewing machine to toss in thread clippings and fabric clippings that are too small to reuse and it keeps the clutter in my sewing table at bay. You could step it up a bit and add some sparkley tri or ric rac around the top edge or even the gift recipeint's name! Super!

that is so cute! and I could probably make a hundred for my family and friends! Thank You! Pam T

I love crocheted or fabric baskets (soft pots, I think theyre sometimes called) and although I have crocheted several I havent ever sewn one. This one is just gorgeous and such a great use for those all old denim jeans we all have lying around waiting for a second lease on life. The contrasting fabric looks so nice and the instructions are very detailed. Im already thinking of all sorts of things I just have to use this basket for!

These would make great teacher gifts, especially if the fabric used to line the basket fit the appropriate school subject numbers for a math teacher, books for an English or reading teacher, maps for geography teacher, etc. just shopping for the fabric would be fun!

There are so many costly denim-looking items in the stores - especially really neat pot sleeves for plants - it always seems to me the money is better spent on more plants but this would make great real denim planters and pot sleeves... to protect the fabric, insert a plastic flower pot with no openings so the water and soil don't drip through... awesome

This denim fabric basket tutorial should be appealing to any sewers looking for economical sewing organization containers as a great solution to pretty store bought fabric cube storage containers. The fabric lining of the denim basket is a great way to make use of fabric scraps as well. To give the denim basket more support and help it to keep its shape, insert a square of plastic canvas cut to fit the bottom once the basket is completed.

What a wonderful idea! I think they would be great to cover ugly planter pots as well, the ones you find too cheap to pass up. You could match them to any room, or your deck, or even the wrong color trash basket, you could make them work in any room. Very clever! Thanks.

beautiful loveeverthing tn denim thank you lily

I have been looking for new ways to recycle denim jeans . Looking forward to making a jean basket :) Thank you

Great idea! I've been making lined drawstring bags for some Christmas gifts, and it is the same idea. But those are a give-away and the denim baskets will be for me. I can think of a gazillion uses. Thanks
