But my dear ones, the whole point of this very pattern is that there IS no pattern. That's why it's called a cheat-sew clutch; she cut off a corner piece of her coat or scarf or something, sewed down one side, and said voila. This site only reroutes into people's individual sewing blogs, and each blogger has her own method and style. It's interesting, and there's something for almost everyone. Besides, what one woman can invent, another can discover, right? I mean, if the pictures are clear, that's all that's needed for a clever brain. Cheers, y'all!

Now I see what you mean. There really isn't any pattern for this particular item. That can be disappointing to folks who are interested in making it. I hate being sent to blogs that really don't show you anything.

this is the worst web site i have ever come across. I logged in and saved pattern and went into the saved patterns and it doesn't give me the pattern. It blows me all around I have better web site that are computer friendly and give me the pattern. You must think people are stupid but I think you are

I am surprised at your comment. I love stopping by here to see what is new. I have learned a lot here. I don't download patterns so maybe that is different. I have gotten some great ideas and helpful suggestions.

I guess I am a dummy! I saw the visuals but there was no actual directions as length, width or just simple directions. Cute idea but I need more information to complete it.

Looks like to me you could use the zipper that zips up the skirt when you put it on as the top. Turn it and sew up the sides. I hope this makes sense. This way all you are doing is sewing and now having to add the zipper in-it's already there. :)

I think the idea is to take the top of a skirt and use that for the top of your clutch. Cut out a clutch sized piece from the top down, add a zipper to the waist portion of the piece you cut. stitch a handle on one end, sew around the cut portions and you have a clutch without all the finish sewing that you'd ordinarily have to do.

Thank you "Nest" for making your "cheats" available! I have a number of outdated pants and skirts (jackets, too) that I'm going to make into bags. I'll be designing them according to how the original garment was made. For example, I have a glen plaid jacket with a black velvet collar and buttons. I'm going to make a bag using the center of the top of the jacket (with collar and buttons) on the front side and just the glen plain on the back. Not sure yet whether to do a clutch, handles or strap, but I'm sure it's going to be cute and fun. Congratulations on being so inventive with your castoffs!
