This is a beautiful pattern and I have already selected my suede fabric. What I am going to do, though, is make the detailing in the same fabric (and color) as the bag itself is. That appeals more to my particular taste. Plus I am going to cover the whole bag in the detailing, not leaving a gap at the bottom as shown in the pic.

The technique used to make this bag seem complicated but is not at all. Love the unique look of this clutch. Strips of a soft pliable leather or ultra-suede could easily be used as the decorative contrast. I imagine a sturdy machine needle designed for use on leather and appropriate thread would be needed.
