Oh this is such a fabulous idea! My "sewing box" is an absolute MESS, so I sure could use something like this to help keep things more tidy (not to mention cute)!

My friend made me a similar jar, but using a mason jar lid! She used a simple square of fabric over batting and secured it over the lid and then the screwed in lid to secure it. She filled it with antique buttons. I keep it sitting out since it is pretty as well as useful! A greatly appreciated gift!

Isn't this a great idea? I am going to get a slightly bigger jar to make one for myself for repairs and keep it handy. My daughter could also use one as I noticed she has to scrabble about when I ask for needle and thread when I am at her house. I would also consider making some spare jars to give as gifts to others.

This is my kind of project. It's easy cute, practical, and very adaptable. You can easily use any size of jar which has means what you can purchase in the jar is almost endless. Instead of burlap, you could use any fabric you wanted. I'm thinking about even doing some with a little Cross stitch design .

This little pincushion glass jar makeover is just charming. I have made several sewing kits in the past out of wide-mouth canning jars but this idea works with any glass jar! I love the color-coordinated spool of thread, spare buttons, and other sewing niceties. Great gift idea and stocking stuffer.

Beautiful!!
