This is a really good project for me to do before I jump in the deep end of the quilting world. I have been putting off starting to quilt for a while now but it's something that I really want to do. At a quilting group I felt like the only newbie among all the really experienced ladies (and one man!). So thanks very much for this really helpful tutorial!!

The quilt-as-you-go method of making quilted fabric to use in sewing projects is just so useful. The tutorial is very helpful in explaining how to do so. I imagine many other projects could be made from this placemats, potholders (recommend using cotton batting for heat sensitive items), tea cozies, mug mats. What a great introduction to an easy to learn quilting method.
