This homemade hot pad is not only a great place to rest your tea kettle, but it will also make the room smell fresh. Fill it with your favorite potpourri, and pick two different fabrics to make it double-sided. You'll love being able to decorate your countertop with this great smelling hot pad.

I love scented hot pads and this is a good pattern for one. The pads always add a nice scent to the house when you use them and you have a place to put that hot teapot. Or else you can make a smaller one for your tea cup. It is a good stash buster as well. Thank you.

A scented hot pad or trivet to rest a small tea pot on is a nice scrap project. The heat from the steeping tea pot does release the aroma of the potpourri in the pad. I would want to make sure any aromatic filler is not too lumpy or the tea pot will be a bit tippy as it rest on the pad.
