Fat quarters are not a thing here in South Africa - in fact I had to Goooogle to find out what they are, lol! However I can see how the use of different but complementary fabrics can result in a really eye catching piece. I also just love the lace trim - would never have thought of that!

Another example of beginner tutorials. One of my favorite out of thousands.
