These are so nice to have. I would have love to had these when husband was playing ball. His favorite heating pad was me. These would have been a good replacement.

I have made similar heating packs, but this one is such a lovely idea. As an option you could sew sections so that the rice is distributed more evenly, but certainly not essential. This would be a lovely gift to a child or expectant mother. Another option would be to machine stitch the face or the kitty and the paws if you rather not do the hand work. For another added touch you could add a self-fabric ribbon around the neck! Thanks for sharing!

I have a few rice packs already but I like the design of this one. This one can be displayed when not in use, unlike those that are just a plain square or rectangle. Thank you for this simple pattern that has double duty.

Do you have a mother that loves cats and likes to use heating pads for those aches and pains then this will be a great Mother's Day Gift to make for her. Just a little material, some essential oil and some rice. The embroidered face is a great way to learn how to if you never have and so simple or use felt and make the face pieces. There is a pattern that is downloadable too. A super cute idea.

How charming! Love this kitty rice heating pack. So much better than just a plain rectangle or square filled with rice. Might be nice for kids who play sports and need a warm pack to soothe muscles. I might add a few sewn sections to keep the rice from migrating by stitching across the kitty length two or three times a few inches apart. Cute project.
