Hello. Read the comments from the tutorial creator saying the tut is really a beginner quilt when the rating is "advanced." Even though she learned quilting from reading various blogs, you tube, etc. ALOT of things depends on a person's prior sewing experience/knowledge as to what they pick up. Having NO quilting experience, this is NOT a beginner quilting tutorial. For a TRUE beginner, terminology SHOULD be (even though most don't) defined. Secondly, TRUE beginner quilts (example any of Alex Anderson's beginner books and many others) start with a quilt TOP. This tutorial goes beyond that. Just by looking at the picture, this is a full blown quilt. From what I've read (I have about 3 beginning quilting books, have checked out library books, but haven't tackled quilting yet), batting is another "animal" in & of itself in the quilting community. Even seasoned quilters have challenges with it (yes, I read and subscribe to quilting blogs, you tube channels, etc) myself. So, this is not a beginner's tutorial. And for once, allfreesewing rated this one correctly :-). Maybe the author should reconsider.

why is it that this is shown as beginner and yet when I click on it it's advanced?

easiest quilt for beginner is LOG CABIN

I see I am not the only one to find this pattern is for an advanced quilter. May be this is the time to find a pattern that is quick and simple [ but not to plain ] so as to complete in a week or 2 so as to wet our appetite to get on with our next quilt , some thing that the use of color is the them that makes it exciting so the plain pattern is not noticed , maybe every one could post a pic about the same time if a pattern is found that all would like to do ????

Youtube SEARCH:10 Minute Block- I am not a sewer but I am finishing up my second quilt.Easy & fun to see it come together. myke

The Heading for this project is "A BEGINNER'S TUTORIAL " and then when you read it it is to find its "ADVANCED", please can there be a quilt tutorial for a beginner that is for a beginner as till you can make a quilt you cant get to "ADVANCED ", Thank you

Hi. I'm the person who made this quilt originally. This was my first quilt ever. I did not have help. I just read some craft blogs and watched YouTube videos on the parts I didn't know how to do. The tutorial is very step by step and I've had several people email me their first quilt they finished by following my tutorial. It's not impossible, I promise! You can do it. It is time consuming which is why I think it got the advanced label. Anyway, just wanted to let you know this really is the first quilt this beginner ever made. I did a little each night or when my kids napped. Hope that helps. Thanks, Sarah. www.whiletheysnooze.com

Hello. I wanted to save this pattern because I want to learn quilting, however after getting past the beginning quilt title, and looking @ the level, it says ADVANCED. Is this a BEGINNER pattern or an ADVANCED quilt pattern? Did someone from staff respond? I see no replies. I just got the tutorial today in the email notifications that are sent out. Sounds like there are NUMEROUS issues with this pattern.

Hi. I don't work for this site, but I am the person who made this quilt and posted the tutorial on my blog, www.whiletheysnooze.com . This is the first quilt I ever made. I did not take a class or have any help, I just read some craft blogs and watched some YouTube videos and figured it out as I went. That's why it's called beginner... I'm a beginner. It's not hard, just time consuming which is why I think it got the "advanced" label? It is confusing when you read the titles though. Hope that helps. It's really not hard. Just strip after strip sewn together. I tried to break the tutorial way down to show that it's not that hard. Thanks, Sarah.

It doesn't look like a beginner....it looks so complicated!

It says a "beginner's" tutorial but it's labeled "advanced". Which is it??

tutorial doesn't work. dissatisfied with site.

Don't click the ad link under the image. Click on the "CLICK HERE FOR SEWING PATTERN" link just under the pink/red advanced icon. ;)

Seems to be a problem, every time a click on the tutorial for"How to make a Quilt", I keep getting an ad for a university, very frustrating !!!!!

OK....which is it?? Beginners or Advanced???
