Do you need a pretty hairbow for a special little girl then here is a very fast and easy gathered fabric gathered flower and if you do not have a sewing machine you can make it by hand. You can even use these flowers on your clothing, purses even on lampshades or anywhere. You can make them bigger or smaller too. Such a great tutorial.

Fabric flowers can adorn just about anything from a hair band, to tote, on a wrapped present, to adorn a lovely sweater or decorate a pillow and so much more. They are so easy to make and this one, from silk dupioni fabric, has a pretty sheen. After making several in spring and summer colors I decided to make them in a deep burgundy color and attach to a garland to drape from the mantel.

Great instructions and photos for a nice easy flower! For a bit of a variation, you could do two different fabrics to make a flower upon a flower, or just to give some color interest! Instead of a button you could use a little pearl bead or glass bead glued in the center, or even a tiny dewdrop here and there! Lovely as a hair barrette or even as a pin like a brooch!

lovely flower, I am trying to find the link to a headband with florist wire in it to twist around the head - Ive lost it - has anyone got the link : )
