Want to know how to make a sweatshirt that doesn't look sloppy or unfashionable? This Downton DIY Sweater is a great handmade sweater design. It upgrades a casual sweatshirt to a Victorian-inspired piece that you'll be happy to wear around town. You won't have to worry about throwing out that old, stained sweater. This DIY clothing pattern will completely refashion it by replacing the front with lovely lace. If you want to get even more fancy, follow the instructions to the end and add embroidery to the lace swirls.

This a great way to transform a sweat shirt. You can always find sweat shirts on sale and I know I have extra lace at home. It should not take me long at all to do this and I will have a pretty top. You could always add lace to the sleeves if you want to. Thank you.

I like the look of the lace front replacement on the sweat shirt. Rather a classy recycle type idea. Not sure though if the lacy front has a lining to it. Sweatshirt redos are one of my favorites. This practical recycle idea could be taken a step further and make the lacy front into a cardigan style.
