Take your husband's old plaid button-down and transform it into a chic and stylish shirt that's custom-made to fit you with this easy sewing tutorial. This Refashioned Button-Down Top Tutorial shows you how to design a trendy peplum top from your hubby's old hand-me-downs. This beginner refashioning project comes in at your natural waist, meaning it's super slimming, and the warm flannel will keep you comfy and cozy in fall and winter. You can even add a little length to the bottom of your top and make it into a fashionable tunic that you can wear with leggings or tights. Give that old button-down a fresh new look with this fun refashioning project.

So very sweet and feminine! I like this very much. Actually the more I look at it the more I feel I want to make it a bit longer for myself and turn it into a mini dress. Oh well I will just have to wait and see how much fabric is available from whatever I make it out of.

This is a good way to refashion your husbands old shirts and put it to use instead of throwing it out. And if you do not have any you can check yard sales or thrift stores. If you do not like those tight fitting clothes which everything seems to be than this is the top tutorial that you need and if you want to step it up then buy 2 shirts and make the sleeves and bottom different colors. There is so much that you can do when making your own clothes even when using pre-existing pieces. It is so much fun. If you have always wanted to design your own pieces then you must read this tutorial.

This is exactly my style. Men's shirts are usually more comfortable anyway, so this is a great way to save some money while making a comfy shirt!
