There are a lot of sewn pincushion patterns available on the internet. From insanely cute and quirky to simple and useful, all of these patterns are a true treasure. None of them combine a fun pattern with a surprisingly useful shape quite like the Pretty Pie DIY Pincushion does. This clever craft helps you create a rounded pin cushion that sits conveniently on your desk and is just big enough to hold all the pins you need.

Pincushions do come in all shapes and sizes and this one is just lovely. I would use a pretty apple or any fruit printed themed fabric to emphasize the wedge shape of the pincushion pie shape. The tutorial and accompanying photos show how really easy it would be to duplicate this project.
