"Today I have the cutest DIY Fairy Costume Tutorial made with a lovely flowy chiffon! I am so excited to share this one!!!! The idea came to me when I was scouting photography pictures on Pinterest. I loved the etherial soft backlit look with sweet pink tones. I wanted something that was light weight and would drape kinda flowy when the girls flitted about. I was kind of going through a flower crown obsession, so that had to be included. Like seriously, I was Pinterest-aholic flower crown stalker! I finally decided on faux flower crowns because they cost serious dollars for just one real one. I also thought about making some from this cute flower crown tutorial and this one too. But since I was already making the dresses I decided to skip the DIY and buy them."

Whether you create this for a Halloween costume, a dance recital or for just plain dress up fun, this costume is absolutely adorable in every way! I could see some other design options such as adding a ribbon with iridescent crystals or metallic fabric for veins in the wings, or around the waist and collar. An added bit might be to sew and glue in some crystal beads for dew drops on the roses in the pretty crown, or even make a matching magic wand with a glittered star at the tip! Stunning project and pattern! Thanks for sharing!

This looks like such a super easy pattern, the tutorial is really in depth so just perfect for beginners like me. I have some pale yellow chiffon leftover from making my daughter's lyrical dance costume and though it would just be left lying around forever but this is a perfect way to put it to use as I will make one for my friends little girl who loves Tinkerbell. I also really love the flowers and they could be used in so many different ways such as a corsage or brooch.
