Hi! Great ideas . . . . but Im looking for a pattern for a specific kind of purse or shoulder bag, and Im hoping you folks out there can help. Its called an Ergonomic bag, but that simply means a bag that distributes the weight evenly over your arm, and is therefore much more comfortable to carry than a standard shoulder bag. Angel Fire Designs sells two patterns, their Kidney-Shaped Ergonomic Shoulder Bag Pattern and their Ergonomic Shoulder Bag Pattern (Pear-shaped). These patterns cost $14 each, which is one matter; but theyre also described as advanced sewing level. I found these at, and sent a message to the company. In their response, they suggested that I buy the pattern and have a professional seamstress make it for me! Does anybody at All Free Sewing have an idea for a simpler, less complicated version of this kind of bag? I think many sewists would appreciate a comfy, easy-on-the-body bag that can be created by normal people?

I love the links to free patterns.

i like gettingthese patterns

I did 3 of these "bags", the buttercup one, the one hour one, and the oversize beach tote. The beach tote turned out the best. The one hour one I did twice but the 1st time it turned out better than the second time around. All of them were great, had a hard time turning inside out when it came time to do so with the buttercup bag and wouldn't do it again for that reason. Thanks especially for the beach tote pattern! kr

I had the same problem with my Buttercup. It came out beautiful, but it was so difficult to turn.

Do we have to pick just one?? I found this site while looking for the jeans purse patterns (actually, I like my own better...sorry!) and found all these other GREAT patterns in the process. I made several of the little zipper clutches and the buttercup bag, and one of the messenger bags, from patterns I found here. I'd have to say, of all those that I made from the tutorials here, I liked the buttercup bag and the messenger bag the best. But I like so many of the patterns here!!!
