Felt Envelope Clutch with Ribbon Closure

"Instructions on how to make a simple felt envelope clutch with a cute ribbon and bow closure. And the best of it? It can be done in fifteen minutes or less. Because yes, it is that simple! All you need is felt in our favorite color, matching sewing thread, a pair of scissors and a piece of ribbon (ribbons scraps are great for this). Depending on the size you choose, you can use this tutorial to make clutches, tablet covers, book holders or even phone pouches. They work great as gift packages too, especially because of the cute bows."

Materials List

  • felt in your favorite color. Use the thickest felt you can find, because if the felt is too soft the clutch won't hold its shape. Decide which size you want your clutch to be and fold the felt piece in a way that the back side is at least 1/3 longer than the front
  • Matching sewing thread (or fabric glue for a no-sew version)
  • A piece of ribbon (ribbon leftovers are great for this project, they just have to be long enough to tie a bow)
