Gingerbread Jewels Fabric Face Mask Pattern

Make some Christmas or holiday face masks with festive fabrics like gingerbread men!

By: Terri Ashley Ocean for AllFreeSewing.com
Updated November 20, 2020

Gingerbread Jewels Fabric Face Mask is a glitzy mask covered with fun-loving gingerbread men, green and red rhinestones, and jeweled braids. A cloth face mask pattern with multiple layers can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This design proves that you can protect yourself and others while having some fun with it. These friendly gingerbread men are welcoming and the added jewels make this a charming wearable for your holiday events or even virtual celebrations.

This pretty and festive mask is a great Christmas sewing project. Plus, it's ideal to wear whether you are running errands or having an outside get-together for the holidays. Whatever you are doing, do it in style and while in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Enjoy creating your masks! The muslin fabric is used for lining the masks and provides comfort as it is breathable and softer than most fabrics. Pony beads add ease and comfort to adjust the masks. Pull the ribbons through the pony beads to loosen or tighten to fit around the ears.

No more elastic hurting the ears and the ribbons look much prettier. Another idea is to use eyeglass strands to attach to the corner of the masks. Have fun creating and blinging out your masks!

How to Make a Gingerbread Man Mask:

  1. Refer to the drawn pattern template below. Place pattern on fold of fabric and cut one each out of both the gingerbread and muslin fabric. The dimensions are 5" x 10". At top of the mask, fold fabric with right sides together so dashed lines meet the back and front of fabric and sew together on dashed lines.

  2. Pin right sides together and sew top and bottom in 1/4" seams, leaving ends open.

  3. Turn right side out and press with iron.

  4. Cut ribbon in half.

  5. Place center of ribbon on center top of the mask and fold over both sides of the top of the mask.

  6. Sew close to the edge of the ribbon making sure to sew through both sides.

  7. Pull both ends of ribbon through a gold pony bead and slide beads to bottom corner edges.

  8. Weave ribbons through jewelry strands and tie wrap around knots to end of ribbons.

  9. Using fabric adhesive, glue rhinestones to eyes and buttons onto the gingerbread men.

Make the Entire Holiday Mask Set!

Our "White Sparkles" face mask is a pattern like a standard mask. The "Gingerbread Jewels" mask (above) and "Candy Cane Christmas" are wider face masks. The "Snowmen Angels" design is a shorter width face mask.

All four styles fit and look great on all facial features. It is all about your creativity and making them unique to your own brand and personality. These styles can fit all faces and are hand washable.
