With adorable snowman fabric, decorative ribbon, and pretty beads, this DIY mask will look fabulous and festive for any event.

Because Christmas will look different this year, adding a mask to your party outfit is becoming the norm. Wearing a multi-layered fabric mask plus social distancing is the key to staying safe this winter.

This full tutorial walks you through this exclusive design. This one is a shorter-width mask that still covers the nose and mouth.

Materials List

  • 1/4 yard of snowmen angels fabric
  • 1/4 yard of muslin fabric
  • Matching blue metallic thread
  • 3 yards of blue sparkly/shiny ribbon
  • Fabric-permanent adhesive ultra-flexible machine washable glue
  • Straight pins
  • 6-1/2" silver jewelry strand
  • 2 red pony beads
  • Sewing machine
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Template (below)

DIY Snowmen Angels Face Mask

Enjoy creating your masks! The muslin fabric is used for lining the masks and provides comfort as it is breathable and softer than most fabrics. Pony beads add ease and comfort to adjust the masks. Pull the ribbons through the pony beads to loosen or tighten to fit around the ears.

No more elastic hurting the ears and the ribbons look much prettier. Another idea is to use eyeglass strands to attach to the corner of the masks. Have fun creating and blinging out your masks!
 

Snowmen Angels Face Mask Tutorial:

  1. Refer to the pattern below, 5" length x 10" wide. Cut one pattern from both the snow angel and muslin fabric.

  2. At top of the mask mark and sew darts in both fabrics.

  3. Pin right sides together and sew top and bottom in 1/4" seams, leaving side ends open.

  4. Turn right side out and press with iron.

  5. Cut ribbon in half and place center of ribbon on center top of the mask and fold over both sides.

  6. Sew close to the edge of the ribbon making sure to sew through both sides.

  7. Repeat Step 6 for bottom of the mask.

  8. Pull both ends of ribbon through a red pony bead and slide bead to bottom corner edges.

  9. Tie a bow using both ribbons at lower edge of mask.

  10. Using fabric adhesive, glue a silver sparkle jewelry strand to top across the mask.
