If you are the kind of sewist that loves the oven as much as their sewing machine, this homemade apron pattern should be your next project. This gorgeous and quirky sewn apron pattern is just too cute not to sport while backing. Ruffled and feminine, the Baking Cakes DIY Apron would make a fantastic gift for a friend who loves the kitchen. You can make it in literally any color you want and you will feel oh so pretty while making your pretty cakes.

Obviously, the description paragraph is for another project, as it mentions frilly and baking, but the photo caught my eye! Having worked in the schools, this little smock would have come in handy. I actually used garbage bags turned upside down, and cut out holes for their head and arms! While it did work, the kids were hot and they were so big, sometimes getting in their creative way! This bias tape smock is great, and uses iron on vinyl to really make them mess proof! Another option might be to use oil cloth for the fabric. Great pattern and idea!
