Hand Quilted Cotton Gauze Baby Blanket

"Have you seen all the mommas and babies carrying around these thin gauzy type blankets? They are so very popular right now, and many fabric designers have been offering their fabrics in gauze as well. If you haven't tried sewing with cotton gauze, know that it is a very different texture than quilting cotton. Click through here to find a step by step illustrated guide to sewing a simple baby blanket using cotton gauze. I wasn't convinced from other makers that this blanket would end up exceptionally soft, but they were right. After a quick wash, this baby blanket has a very light drape, perfect crinkles, and just asking for cuddles."

I am so excited that I found this pattern. One of our local stores carries the cotton gauze in the cutest baby patterns. I always look at it, but not a clue what you would do with this. I thought it might be for making diapers. Very well written instructions. This will be a nice project during the evenings when watching tv. I need to run to the store and make sure they still have the fabric

Did I miss a part. Did you see how much fabric to use? I love this cotton gauze blanket too. So different from all the others. Have you made on yet? I am going to try and hand quilt some for baby shower gifts. This was a great tutorial and looks like it will be kinda easy if you can keep fabric in place. I seen some nice guaze fabric at walmart last time I was there.
