I did a project for my kitchen that would work with this topic. I have a small apt sized kitchen with BROWN cupboards, all of it!! Very dark and dreary. All my kitchen stuffs is sunflower and I had a length (1 1/2 yard maybe)of sunflower cotton material. I measured and cut 5 inch wide strips and 24 inches or more in length. I sewed up this material into giant bands of color that I could slip over the cupboard doors and the drawers. It brightenes up the kitchen with out paint or damage to apt fixtures.
